Thank you for hosting members of the Watoto Choir during the tour. Billeting enables the choir to travel and allows choir members and their adult chaperones to experience Australian life.
Each home will host 1-2 children and a choir chaperone of the same gender.
We ask that all billet hosts:
Hold current valid working with children checks (or equivalent for your state/territory) and have completed screening processes with their church to ensure they are suitable to work with children and young people,
Do not have other adults residing in the home who do not hold working with children checks and have not completed screening,
Have homes that are safe and have no presence of domestic family violence or AVO’s,
Are able to provide a separate room for one - two choir members to sleep in,
Are able to provide a separate room for one adult choir chaperone to sleep in.
To ensure a safe and enriching experience we ask hosts to follow these guidelines for the duration of the billet stay:
All members of the household refrain from alcohol, smoking or use of drugs
Ensure inappropriate content through media, movies, internet is not accessible by choir members and chaperones and not viewed by members of the household.
Choir members and chaperones are not provided with access to the internet or the use of phones or devices, except in circumstances where they need to contact the choir tour manager.
Adults do not sleep in the same room as choir members.
Choir members are provided with privacy for bathing and changing.
If there are any concerns about behaviour or health and wellbeing, the billet host shouldcontact the choir tour manager.
Please refrain from giving the choir members or chaperones any gifts or money during the stay. Gifts and finances are facilitated by the tour manager.
Choir members and Chaperones should be transported together to and from venues. Please do not travel alone with choir members without their chaperone in the vehicle.
